ABOUT Me

Hi I'm Katie, and I'm a nottinghamshire-based animation student who is building up my portfolio with the ambition of one day joining a professional studio. I love creating artworks and animations and experimenting with techniques I have never tried before.

Animation has been an important part of my life for many years. From watching animated films as a child, to watching projects people have posted to YouTube, it has always been a subject which I am passionate about and inspired by. Since I first watched classic films such as Fantasia and Bambi, I felt the magic that you can capture with animation, and it made me want to create my own stories with it.

When I was younger, I created stop-motion animations using LEGO and a camera, before moving on to 2D frame-by-frame animation in Pencil 2D, then Adobe Animate, then TVPaint. Now I work mainly as a 3D animator in Maya (and occaisionally Blender). I have also created larger scale animations as part of a team. I prefer being able to work with others, as working with peers can lead to a much stronger product.

I am currently on my third and final year on the Animation course at NTU. Through this I have learned a lot about animating, modelling, rigging, texturing, FX animation, motion graphics, post-production, sound design and more.
